Entering into counselling is often a new experience, and understandably, you may be concerned about what the process involves. Simply put, counselling allows you to explore your thoughts and feelings in a safe, non-judgemental space, giving you the opportunity to see the issues that are bothering you more clearly and to find ways to make the intolerable tolerable.
I work with people who may be navigating significant life changes such as divorce or separation, estrangement, retirement, redundancy, or changes in health (including menopause). These experiences can bring uncertainty, a sense of loss, and questions about identity, direction and what comes next.
Change can bring about endings, and as we reflect upon where we have been, where we are, and where we are going, we might also consider how we end well.

Our work will be collaborative and centred around you. Together, we can begin to make sense of your experience, whilst gently exploring patterns and themes that may sit beneath the surface. Making these connections can help bring clarity, particularly at times when life feels disrupted or unsettled.
Working in an integrative way, I adapt my approach to your individual needs. I aim to balance curiosity with sensitivity, supporting you to approach difficult topics in a way that feels manageable, encouraging meaningful and lasting change.
Whether you are looking for support through a specific life change, or a longer-term space to reflect and adjust, we can find a way of working that feels right for you.
If you are considering starting counselling it can be hard to take that first step, and a free, informal chat on the phone about the challenges you are facing can be reassuring. An introductory call gives us an opportunity to discuss what you are looking for, explore any questions you may have, and decide whether working together feels like the right fit. You are welcome to get in touch by phone or email to arrange an initial conversation.
It's natural to feel uncertain about beginning therapy, particularly if you’re going through a period of change or uncertainty. The initial session is a chance for us to meet and begin to get a sense of whether working together feels right for you.
There is no expectation to share everything straight away. We can go at a pace that feels comfortable, starting with whatever feels most important for you to talk about. We will discuss your reasons for seeking counselling, what you hope to gain from therapy, and how I may be able to support you.
I will explain how I work, including practical aspects such as confidentiality and session structure, allowing time for any questions you may have. You can then decide, in your own time, whether you would like to continue.

Sessions take place in a private, dedicated counselling room, providing a quiet and confidential space for reflection and conversation.
Sessions last for 60 minutes and are usually held on a weekly or fortnightly basis, although this can be discussed depending on your needs.
The fee for each session is £60.
Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel or rearrange a session, I ask that you provide at least 24 hours’ notice. This allows the time to be offered to someone else who may be waiting for an appointment.
If less than 24 hours’ notice is given, the full session fee will be charged.
